Zenit named as a finalist for Infrastructure Project of the Year award

We are proud to have been named as a finalist for Infrastructure Project of the Year at the prestigious Constructing Excellence Midlands Awards 2026! We have been recognised for our work on the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology where we took over a project with a 12+ month programme and completed in in just five months.

The £22.5m Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology is a brand new facility which offers high level training in advanced engineering, high value manufacturing, modern methods of construction, digital tech, health and life sciences.
Speller Metcalfe, the main contractor for the development, had originally gone to National Grid for the HV and LV substation connection work, but the timescale offered wasn’t fast enough to suit the construction programme. They turned to Zenit to help them get the job done as quickly as possible so the development could complete on time.
It was a showcase for how we use innovative digital systems, in-house design and estimating functions and a streamlined, automated workflow to complete jobs quickly and with outstanding quality.
You can read the full project details here.
We are looking forward to the awards in April and have our fingers crossed that our outstanding work on this project will lead to a win…
