Zenit hosts panel at Constructing Excellence ‘Construction 2025’ event

We joined forces with other industry leaders to host a panel this November at the latest Constructing Excellence event, ‘Construction 2025: Progress, Challenges, and the Future Industry’.

Held over an afternoon at the People’s History Museum in Manchester, the event was a deep dive into the construction sector which brought together key figures from across the industry to evaluate achievements, discuss innovations and explore the path toward 2050 – a future shaped by sustainability, digital transformation and productivity improvements.

Our contribution was a panel discussion on the role of infrastructure in shaping the North’s future. The North West has ambitious development plans for the coming decades, but if we don't get utilities infrastructure right then none of it will be achievable.

There are undoubtedly challenges ahead, but getting infrastructure right will lead to huge productivity gains, significant cost efficiencies and more sustainable developments that will make our region fit for the future. There’s a huge opportunity there for the taking if the sector is proactive and positive in its approach – and if we all start planning ahead now.

Our Managing Director, Ryan Campbell, was joined by Laura Wilson from Connections Legal Management and Charlie Hesketh from Aurora Utilities to discuss the North West's future energy demands, how to secure power for your developments and how to embed infrastructure into your projects from the earliest stages.

We provided practical, valuable advice that developers can put into action straight away on current or future projects. Planning ahead is the key to securing utilities infrastructure and getting projects live, and attendees left better equipped to make that happen and help realise ourcollective ambitions in the North West.

The key takeaways were all on the same theme - the projects of tomorrow need to start thinking about infrastructure today. And if developers and Local Authorities in the region want to keep our towns and cities growing, getting infrastructure right is absolutely vital.
